Old Business: Sue updated the group on a few things the board had been doing over the winter. We discussed the increase in advertising budget and the great new ads that were being created for isbona. Also the new website redesign and the board had voted to reduce the membership dues fee for web members to be the same amount as a full membership, and this would allow both levels to have their farm information published on the website.

New Business: There was some discussion around registration and the CLRC, Sondra stated that in the past she had done a thorough investigation into separating from them and it was very costly and complicated. It was made clear on the email list that the majority of the membership was happy the way things were and did not want to change anything.

There was discussion about the isbona website and its placement in a web search regarding ways to get the website in the top 3 results of a search. A suggestion was made to be an advertiser’s sponsored site.  It was decided we would ask the web designer to just add some more key words that would bring the site higher in the search results.

Adding a FOR SALE page to the website for members to advertise sheep was discussed, the ads would need to be restricted in length of time they were up, with a set expiration date. We also discussed the newsletter going online, or staying in print form.

We ended the meeting by everyone introducing themselves and talking a bit about their farm and history with isbona. We all agreed that it was important to keep improving isbona and finding new ways to attract today’s younger shepherd to the organization.
