Welcome to ISBONA

The purpose of the Icelandic Sheep Breeders of North America is to preserve and protect the purebred Icelandic sheep breed in North America; to facilitate registration and pedigree information for the breed; to provide information about Icelandic sheep to the general public and to facilitate the exchange of information between members and breeders. ISBONA also promotes the special attributes and products of these unique sheep. Membership is open to anyone with an interest in supporting our mission. You do not even need to own sheep!

Will ISBONA still be the official breed association for 2019 for US Icelandic sheep registrations? Yep, but not as expected on January 1, 2019 says CLRC. They hope to be ready later in January or February at the latest. We will announce as soon as we know what the new date will be. Meanwhile, if you need registry services early in 2019 and wonder if you should renew your CSBA membership, we suggest waiting and checking with CLRC at that time. They will be able to guide you to the right breed association. As always, insofar as other benefits, joining CSBA remains your choice. Remember too this is for US breeders only. Canadian breeders will continue to use CSBA. More Information.

NEW!! Congratulations to new officers and appointees: President Susan Engwall, DVM; Vice President Margaret Flowers, PhD; Secretary Cynthia Berg. Marge Jackson was re-appointed Treasurer until the registry is operational and associated financial projects are completed. Justin Audet joins the Registry Project Committee.
