2008 Annual General Meeting Sept 26-28, 2008 at Oregon Flock and Fiber FestivalThe 2008 ISBONA Annual General Meeting (AGM) and the Icelandic Sheep show will be held at the Oregon Flock and Fiber Festival (OFFF) scheduled from Sept 26-28 at the Clackamas County Fairgrounds in Canby OR. The following members are part of the organizing committee:
OFFF was also the site of the 2004 AGM. The festival will be scheduling three days of classes and workshops which may be of interest to our members. Class schedules are not yet available on line, but classes fill quickly, so start your planning early. The Icelandic Sheep show traditionally is held on Sunday morning, and the AGM would be held Saturday evening at the fairgrounds or at a nearby restaurant. Ann has confirmed with Brandy Chastain, the Festival Director, that we can have an Icelandic sheep class if we have a minimum of five breeders. At this time the judge is not determined. We will also have an information booth at or near the barns and have the ability to collectively sell Icelandic fleeces, should we so desire. ISBONA will again contribute prize money in the amount of $100 each for the Grand Champion Ewe and Ram; $50 each for the Reserve Champion Ewe and Ram; $50 for the best Icelandic fleece and $25 for the Reserve fleece. ISBONA will also fund the related ribbons or rosettes. Wondering what an AGM/Festival is all about? Check out these links for our 2007 AGM and the 2006 event. Last, if you are an East Coast member, keep in mind the 2009 AGM will be held in your part of the country! |
