Icelandic Sheep Breeders of North America

2007 Annual General Meeting

 and National Icelandic Sheep Show

Date: June 9th 2007             Place: Hamilton, MT

This year's annual meeting will be in conjunction with the Big Sky Fiber Festival.  This is a three day festival, with both our show and meeting being held in the middle, on Saturday.  Icelandics are the featured breed of sheep for the festival this year.

While I realize that June is early in the year, especially to show Icelandic sheep, I really hope that as many breeders as possible will try to attend.  I'd love to see the barn overflowing with our lovely animals!  Even if you find it impossible to bring your sheep, do try to attend the festival and our annual meeting.  It's a wonderful opportunity to meet other breeders and form long distance friendships.  Livestock Entry Due by June 1st, 2007

In order to ensure that our location for the dinner is large enough to accommodate everyone, PLEASE, if there is a reasonable chance that you will be attending drop me a note as soon as possible. Include your name and the number of people in your group that will be attending the annual meeting.

Also please think about bringing or sending some fleeces to show in the fleece competition/sale.  As the featured breed it would be nice to have many beautiful and colorful fleeces for the judge and spectators to look at.  ISBONA will be providing premiums for both the sheep show and the fleece show.  Wool Entry Due by May 20th, 2007

The following is a rough schedule for the weekend:

Friday:   Animals may be checked in between 9 AM and 6 PM.  Workshops begin at 1 PM   (Judith McKenzie McCuin will be giving a class on “Primitive Breeds Wool” from 1 to 4 pm that could be of interest to Icelandic breeders.  I have been told that she had us specifically in mind when she planned it.)

Saturday:   Animals may be checked in between 7 AM and 9 AM

Workshops run from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Vendor Building open from 9 AM to 5 PM

10 AM the sheep show begins.  Icelandics will show first.

8:00 to ? meeting and possible speaker

(The AGM is tentatively scheduled at Perkins, where we will be able to order off of their regular menu.  Should we 'outgrow' their meeting room, I will have to arrange a different location)

Silent Auction at AGM

Lilly LeVeque will be in charge of the silent auction this year.  She would like to have all donations for the auction by June first, unless you will be bringing the items(s) with you when you come to the meeting.  If you are bringing them yourself, please drop her an email at: lilly@levequeicelandics.com  and let her know.  Also, if you mail items to her, please include a note saying what opening bid you would like the item to start at.  Any item that you think someone would bid on would be most appreciated.  (examples: towels, books, home made items, sheep related items, etc.)  Donations can be sent to:
